Blompark tragedy: The funeral of 16-year-old Romeo Olyn was held after he was fatally stabbed. He is the third murder victim in Blompark this year, following Ricardo Tobias (30) and Eben Olyn (34). A suspect, Edward Damon, has been arrested and remains in custody.
CapeNature conviction: A Mozambican man was sentenced for a violent attack on a protected Spotted Eagle-Owl.
Local achievements: Jeanne van Tonder received the Effective Management Award for conservation excellence; Rudy Boshoff from KIA Motors Hermanus placed 3rd nationally in the KIA Technician Skills Contest.
Environmental awareness: CapeNature and SANCCOB announced Penguin Palooza, a free conservation event at Stony Point on 8 November to raise awareness about the critically endangered African Penguin.
