Gansbaai Community Police Forum (CPF) Salute our Special Ladies

On Tuesday 09 August 2022 Gansbaai CPF committee invited 20 special ladies who work long hours and give their services to the committee to attend a Women’s Day breakfast. The event was held at Blue Goose restaurant.

These ladies were from Security companies, St Johns Ambulance, 1 Life Rescue, Herberg aan See, Silwerjare, Badisa, Ikamva, SAPS, Gansbaai Clinic and other carers of our community. Tickets were also sold to the community and we thank everyone who bought a ticket and joined us - in total 32 ladies attended.

Chairperson Julia Barlow welcomed all the ladies to the breakfast and thanked them for their services to the community. These ladies are our ‘angels’ of Gansbaai and the Gansbaai CPF salute them all. She reminded them to take care of themselves and to take time out to spoil themselves too. She said: “Remember to love yourself and tell yourself daily how strong, beautiful and intelligent you are.”

Anneri Carstens of Eagle Security was the guest speaker and she spoke to the ladies about the various traumas that ladies go through in a normal daily life, at work and at home. Ladies must identify themselves - “who are you? You as a woman has an individual identity which must be nurtured and respected,” she said. “It is important to know yourself, love yourself and your neighbours.” This was a clear message to each and every lady.”

After addressing the ladies, Riaan Franken, Adam Botha and his team served a delicious full breakfast served with orange juice and bottomless coffee. During the breakfast the ladies chatted with each other and learnt more about the organizations that render a service in our town. It is on occasions like this that the community become aware of how the community at large are supported with love and kindness.

Chairperson Julia Barlow thanked the ladies for taking time out of their busy schedules to join the CPF and she looked forward to more events of this nature. She also thanked Riaan and his team for hosting the event at their beautiful venue and for the delicious breakfast.

In closing, she reminded the ladies that they are special and “please remember to love yourself” she added.
