Groeneweide Nursery

Groeneweide Nursery is a family owned nursery focusing on coastal plants. We have an excellent selection of plants that are wind resistant and perfect for high alkaline soils. At Groeneweide nursery we also have a spectacular selection of succulents, ranging from the familiar favorites to more rare and exotic varieties. We are passionate about sustainable, water wise gardening, which makes us a great resource for the water conscious and environmentally friendly gardener. Our nursery is run by a small and passionate team of plant enthusiasts who are there to give you expert, personal guidance to help your garden flourish using sustainable methods. Visitors come here not only to shop and receive gardening advice, they also come to enjoy the natural beauty and calm of the space. With its winding paths, lush greenery and mountain views our nursery feels like a peaceful green sanctuary where one can briefly escape the noise and bustle of the world.

We are also well stocked with a choice of pots and good quality garden soil, compost, chicken manure, wood chips and our own mix of potting soil and lawn dressing.

On Groeneweide you can buy plants at our nursery, eat the best breakfast and lunch in our Groeneweide Restaurant, and enjoy the view with a glass of wine or beer on the stoep. Children can run around and meet our farm animals (mountain goats, chickens, ostriches, sheep, and young cows). Pets are welcome.
