Celebrating 3 Years in Business
Three years ago, Kaliko Boutique Fabric Shop took the bold step to engage in a colourful, exciting new world of fabrics and interior!
Karin Franken established Kaliko Boutique Fabric Shop in September 2020.
As a child, both Karen’s mom and grandmother were keen seamstresses and lay the foundations for her love of sewing and crafts.
After years of practising as a pharmacist in her chemist, Gansbaai Apteek (now Arie Nel Pharmacy), Karin realised her dream of developing her creative side and opened Kaliko Boutique Fabric Shop. The career change was also inspired by her daughter Liezl, a stylist studying to be a fashion designer.
