Location: Gansbaai, South Africa
Dive site: Joubertsdam
Water temp: Moderate
Visibility: Poor
Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, African Penguins, Common dolphins, Short-tail Stingray, Bryde’s whale + Cape fur seals
Summary: We had a wonderful day out in the ocean today, filled with nothing but marine life. Our shark diving vessel had to launch from Gansbaai harbour today due to low tide in our bay, and although it extended our journey a bit, it still rewarded us with some amazing sightings. We encountered a huge pod of common dolphins just around Danger Point, with some Bryde’s whales making an appearance as well. A raft of the critically endangered African penguins was also seen a few minutes away from our dive site. When we finally arrived in an area we call the Shallows, a few bronze whaler sharks were waiting for a short-tailed stingray, which made a surprise appearance, which left everyone excited. We had a wonderful, magical time with all of you today. Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope to see you again for another fin-tastic experience.
