Horseback Adventures on the Cape Whale Coast ...
August was a crazy month from a weather point of view, but our guests, volunteers, horses and ourselves still had loads of fun on trail.
The last couple of Western Cape winter months have flown by in a flash, encompassing SA Winter school holidays, our Winter Solstice on the 21st June, some much needed rain (with a little snow on the higher ground) along with some truly impressive storms and BIG seas, interspersed with lovely warm days and memorable horse trails. We've even been able to swim in the sea with the horses on many of the trails.
Of course with the European Summer break in full swing, we've hosted many lovely overseas visitors on horseback, on both Beach and Mountain Fynbos Trails, not to mention some really awesome Sundowner & Champagne Trails. And it's really great to see how many local South Africans also visit this magical destination over the cooler months. A fabulous area to visit, and only 2 hours from Cape Town.
We were also excited to welcome our newest equine addition, beautiful Sahara! She is a big, solid mare, with a strong will, but good manners. She has already debuted on both beach and mountain trails, and has settled in well with the rest of the family.
Looking forward to a busy August as the “Whale Season” moves into full swing, and our giant visitors once again grace us with their awesome presence. Couple this with the bountiful floral display from all the proteas and other gorgeous fynbos, and you have a winning recipe for a truly “bucket list” horse trail experience in the outstanding Southern Cape Overberg!
Gansbaai & Pearly Beach Horse Trails invite you on a never to be forgotten horseback adventure. Saddle up for a ride that will take you through dune forests and across the pristine white sandy beaches of one of the most exquisite stretches of the Cape Whale Coastline. Or meander through rural farm...
