Business Information

Mimmie Pienaar’s art career spans a colourful and creative lifetime. After studying Fine Art in Stellenbosch, Mimmie went on to receive her teaching qualification in art from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Her mentor at that stage was her lecturer Stephen De Villiers who she says, inspired her with his teaching methods and art psychology. After her studies were completed, Mimmie travelled abroad and lived in France for a year where she studied art and sculpture at Jean-Jacques Petit’s private studio and at the Academie Julian. She then taught art and sculpture at The Touch Gallery in Paris which is a school for blind and deaf students.

After returning to South Africa, Mimmie spent many years teaching both children and adults in Cape Town and Stellenbosch as well as doing private commissions.

Mimmie lives in Franskraal with her husband Schalk Pienaar.
