S.H.A.R.E. Projects

S.H.A.R.E is a non-profit organisation based in Gansbaai powered by Pastor Frikkie Zeelie and a strong team of caring volunteers. The organization serves and assists underprivileged residents and communities in and around Gansbaai.

S.H.A.R.E is involved in the following projects:

Meals

In March 2009, the Department of Social Development assisted with the funding of the S.H.A.R.E kitchen. However, since April 2012 the organization has been totally reliant on the generosity of businesses and the local community to fund the various S.H.A.R.E projects.

Meals are meals distributed from the S.H.A.R.E shop to those in need from Monday to Friday. This service includes deliveries to the elderly, sick and children in Beverley Hills.

In keeping with feeding the hungry, the organization feeds approximately 30 dogs and cats daily.

Housing

Whether it be due to fire, flood or general deterioration due to the elements and time, S.H.A.R.E is always there in times of housing crises. Furthermore, countless shacks in Beverly Hills have been rebuilt because the existing shacks were tiny and in desperate need of repair. In some cases, the owners received furniture and bedding.

Events

Since 2008, an annual Christmas party is held for approximately 500 children from all areas of Gansbaai. Each child who attends the party receives a healthy meal, cake, ice cream, sweets and toys. Added to these treats are fun activities such as water slides and jumping castles.

Rehabilitation

A long term dream of Pastor Frikkie is to build and maintain an orphanage, rehabilitation centre and an overnight shelter for those needing a safe-haven in Gansbaai. To date, various people with drug addiction problems have been assisted.

Education

At the Beverly Hills S.H.A.R.E kitchen, accommodation and activities have been arranged for small play groups of preschool children. The ongoing project is to ensure young pre-school children are kept off the streets and to prepare them for school.

Pastor Frikkie, in association with Klein Karoo Bronne Sentrum, has also enabled the training of students to receive diplomas for ECD (Early Childhood Development).

Since January 2015, S.H.A.R.E has assisted children in need with school uniforms. The project is especially aimed at those attending school for the first time.
