About

Strandveld Hiking Club was started by Zelna and Roelof Botma in 2005.

Club members meet once a month to hike in the Overstrand area.

The club is not affiliated with any organisation and does not have insurance. With this being said, each walker is required to sign an indemnity form before each hike.

Please note: Strandveld Hiking Club is not a fitness club, so there are no competitions or prizes for the fastest finish. The hike leader will regulate the pace to accommodate all walkers, so please be understanding and patient.

The objective is to encourage people to enjoy nature and meet new friends.

Reviews

“Our hike with Strandveld Hiking Club today took us along the vineyards near Lomond to Flower Valley, then over Pincushion Hill and back. We hiked just over 10km, and had beautiful weather with stunning views.”  Yvonne Joubert
“Being new to Stranveld Hiking Club I wish to extend my appreciation for the group's patience yesterday, waiting for me on the contour route above Voelklip in Hermanus.”  Hans Delport
“Strandveld Hiking Club explored the fynbos and beach within the Walker Bay Nature Reserve. We bypassed the magnificent dunes. It was fascinating seeing the different rock formations on the beach. It was a perfect weather day with plenty of sun and no wind. An easy 10km walk through soft, stunning white beach sand. It is right on our doorstep, what more could one want?”  Chereen Leppan Rossouw
