A Perfect Hike in Flower Valley
The Strandveld Hiking Club enjoyed a spectacular hike at Flower Valley this past Saturday. With warm sunshine and a refreshing breeze, 40 enthusiastic hikers set off on a challenging uphill climb, rewarded by breathtaking views and a serene forest descent.
The crystal-clear stream provided the perfect spot for a peaceful breakfast under the shade of towering stinkwood and wit els trees. The 8.5 km trail showcased the best of the region—pristine fynbos, majestic mountains, and lush valleys.
A heartfelt thank you to The Grootbos Foundation, Sean Privett, Mike Fabricius, and Christoff Longland for granting access and ensuring the trails were beautifully maintained. Their dedication to conservation allows us to experience nature at its finest.
