Visions Styl’n Chic started with a dream that award-winning stylist Melody Dean had years ago.
Melody wanted to create a salon where clients could enjoy the level of hairdressing usually associated with big cities, without having to leave Gansbaai. That dream became a reality, and Visions has gone on to compete and win shows both nationally and internationally.
As this was happening, Melody also built a team of talented stylists and beauty professionals, many of whom have been part of the Visions story for years.
Introducing the dream team at Visions Styl’n Chic:
Hair and beauty have been part of Melody’s life since childhood. Her mother was a hairstylist, and growing up around the industry sparked a love that would eventually become her career. She qualified at Cape Town College in 1997.
Melody has always enjoyed the creative side of hairdressing, particularly colour. She loves transforming a client’s look and is constantly learning and developing her skills. Her experience includes working with the Wella crew at AFI Fashion Week in 2020.
In 2023, Melody qualified as a Wella Master Colour Expert, which is the highest accolade in the international hair industry.
Qualifications & Course Accreditations:
Gail Gibson, AKA “The Brazilian Queen”, has worked closely with Melody for over a decade.
With extensive expertise in understanding hair texture, precision styling, and hair health, Gail has honed her skills over the years.
Specialities:
Lee Odendaal is a qualified hairstylist with a vibrant personality and a passion for making sure every day is a good hair day!
Lee studied at Carlton Hair Academy in Randburg and has been in the hair industry for over 12 years. Before moving to Gansbaai, she owned a hair studio in Hartbeespoort near Johannesburg.
Specialities:
Valerie is an experienced senior stylist with a real passion for colour. As a Goldwell MCE Colourist, she enjoys creating beautiful, creative colour that suits each client while making sure they leave the salon feeling confident and happy with their hair.
Specialities:
Andrea is a friendly presence at the basin, making sure clients are comfortable and well looked after while their hair is being washed and treated.
With her gentle touch and warm smile, she helps make this part of the salon experience relaxed and enjoyable.
Elandré Hans is a talented nail technician with a natural flair for style and a warm personality that shines through in every treatment.
Elandré worked as the salon’s receptionist for over five years before specialising in hand and foot care. During that time, she won several accolades as Melody’s model in top local and international hair and beauty competitions.
Specialities:
Adrie Prinsloo specialises in permanent makeup, paramedical procedures and beauty therapies.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, including 15 years as a dental nurse, Adrie has developed a strong eye for detail and a thorough approach to hygiene and client care.
Adrie uses modern equipment and quality products, tailoring each treatment to her client. She is also the only therapist in Gansbaai offering laser treatments, giving clients access to specialised treatments locally.
