An Exciting New Chapter for Visions Styl’n Chic

Ask almost anyone where to go for a haircut, colour or Brazilian blowout in Gansbaai, and chances are the answer will be “Melody” or “Visions”. 

While many know Visions Styl’n Chic through its owner, Melody, she’ll be the first to tell you the business has never been about one person. It’s about the team that works alongside her, and the clients who fill the chairs.

The Story So Far

Walk into Visions on any given day, and you’ll notice something above the sound of hairdryers and snipping scissors. You’ll hear the soft buzz of conversations that have picked up exactly where they left off six weeks earlier. Stories about children, weddings, holidays and life’s ups and downs. And there’s laughter, lots of it. Somewhere along the way, colleagues became family and clients became friends.

Of course, there’s no denying Melody’s contribution. Over the years, her talent has earned national and international recognition, along with an impressive collection of awards. While her talent took her to some exotic places, she chose to build her dream here in Gansbaai, proving that excellence isn’t reserved for big cities.

Like many successful entrepreneurs, Melody balanced motherhood with growing a successful business. She also did something every great leader hopes to do. She built a team she could trust. 

Melody’s Dream Team

Since opening its doors, Visions has been home to some of the country's most talented stylists and therapists, many of whom began or shaped their careers at the salon before continuing their own journeys in the industry. Through it all, Gail Gibson, Lee Odendaal, Elandré Hans and Adrie Prinsloo have remained by Melody’s side.

Melody calls them her “Dream Team” and says, “They are the heart of Visions.”

Together, they’ve helped make the business what it is today, and Melody says she couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved.

The Way Forward

And now comes the news that may surprise many clients.

After 16 wonderful years, Melody has decided it’s time to pass the baton.

Choosing who would take Visions forward was one of Melody’s biggest decisions. After careful consideration, she entrusted the salon to local business owners Hannes Linde, Adele Eksteen and her son, Charl, knowing her team and clients would be in good hands.

Hannes, Adele and Charl are committed to building on the strong foundation Melody has created while preserving the values that have made Visions so well loved.

Perhaps the greatest reassurance for clients is that Gail, Lee, Elandré and Adrie will all remain at Visions. Their familiar faces and exceptional skills will ensure the welcoming atmosphere and high standard of service clients have come to know and trust continue for years to come.

For Melody, although this decision comes with mixed emotions, she is also filled with immense gratitude.

“I want to thank my team and every client who has supported me along the way,” she says. “Thank you for your loyalty, your trust and for allowing me to be part of your lives. It has been a privilege to share so many special moments with you.”

Although ownership of the salon is changing hands, Melody isn’t saying goodbye just yet. She’ll continue welcoming clients until 20 December, giving everyone plenty of time to wish her well before she begins her next adventure.
