Your Partner in HR: By an Employer for an Employer.
As remote work becomes more common, I’ve noticed an interesting trend: employers questioning whether employees should be paid differently when they work from home.
Is this something unique to the countryside, or is it a broader debate?
On the one hand, working from home can mean cost savings for employees - no commuting, fewer expenses on meals, etc. But on the other hand, it can also mean higher personal costs like electricity, internet, and even creating a suitable workspace.
From an HR perspective, shouldn’t pay reflect the value an employee brings, regardless of location? Or are there situations where a geographic adjustment makes sense?
I’d love to hear from my network:
• Employers, do you adjust pay for remote workers?
• HR and recruitment professionals, how do you approach this?
• does working remotely change how you value your compensation package?
