What We've Been Up To
Another financial year has passed, and we have been busier than ever.
We hate bringing bad news, but we have reached crisis point as our office is under siege.
Our fences are continually cut and our office building has been stripped of light fittings, taps and other plumbing.
Damage to our infrastructure is on the increase.
Even our vegetable boxes (where we were growing vegetables for our poorer clients) are being stolen overnight for firewood.
The thoroughfare between our office and the homeless shelter is being used as a dumping ground and our office premises is being used as a latrine.
Our garages have been plundered, one door stolen and now drug addicts have taken over. With the assistance of the police and our security company, the people have been removed but they return shortly afterwards or are merely replaced by others.
Our staff make many sacrifices to provide our essential services, but they and their possessions are now more vulnerable than ever.
We plan to erect an impenetrable security fence around our property but as you can imagine, that comes at a price.
We are looking at R350 000 for such a fence.
If you know anyone who may be able contribute to this effort please point them in our direction.
