Healing After Narcissistic Abuse: Rebuild Sel...
You’ve given so much - your time, energy, and love - to what felt like a bottomless pit.
I read somewhere that Monday past, the 15th, was the saddest day of the year. It is calculated as a combination of days after the festive season (the drop from the high), returning to "normal", and facing the possible financial excesses of the holidays.
Some days might feel as though we are caught in the fog our mind - nothing is clear or make sense. It might feel as though no matter which way we turn, the possible solutions we might have, or the support we seek, all is lost to us.
Don't invest into those days. Acknowledge they exist, become aware of the emotion running within you, and "tie a knot". Hang in there, observe the feeling leave your body, direct your thoughts in different directions (it is literally a choice you need to make), and learn to hang in there. Find something that lifts your spirit.
We must learn that we do not have to be busy all the time. We must learn to rest and recharge at regular intervals so we do not collapse at the finish line. Life is not a race to the end, it is a scenic journey that takes us on paths less travelled where we learn our most valuable lessons, gain our wisdom, and find our true inner strength. When you race, you do not have time to pick the beautiful gifts of life. Taking time and "hanging" for a moment, could be the most important work you do.
What has your week been like? Are you ready to rest, be in the moment, keep your focus while taking the scenic route, and be open to new possibilities that will bring out the uniqueness that is you?
