Healing After Narcissistic Abuse: Rebuild Sel...
You’ve given so much - your time, energy, and love - to what felt like a bottomless pit.
The magical trick around discovering your success is to start being appreciative and have gratitude for what you have already done, received, experienced, etc. So much in our life we take for granted, things like a warm house, the water in the taps, living in a country with loads of sunny days, all involved in the production of our food, and anything else you can think of.
Now all of these are things that you pay for, but what about what you have already achieved in your life? Completing your schooling, the promotions at work, the initiative to start your own business and having done it, keeping yourself healthy, your good sense of humour, the patience you bring to a difficult situation, the compassion you have for strangers, always looking for solutions, and all the many characteristics that make you unique.
And lastly, instead of using your senses to make the negative world your reality, what about the fact that your eyes can see the beauty in a sunset or flower, that you can smell the perfume of a flower or freshly baked bread that brings up loving memories, that you get to taste all the various fruits and vegetables, the calming sound of the sea or music that speaks to your heart, and what about the feeling of a loved one wrapping their arms around you and you can feel their nearness and love.
You must practice daily if you want to be successful. If you are not attuned to recognizing all your successes and blessings, what makes you think you will acknowledge your achievements and blessings tomorrow? It must become your habit.
You already live a life of success. You also believe that you must crawl before you can walk, so are you crawling towards your path of success by recognizing all that is in your life right now? No matter how small.
