Ecclesia Centre, a non-profit organisation rooted in Villiersdorp, is taking a bold step towards uplifting and protecting vulnerable youth in the community. Introducing the proposal for the establishment of Ecclesia Haven for Hope Shelter for Girls on the Belleview Farm near Villiersdorp.
In the heart of the Overberg region, where poverty, substance abuse, and school dropouts prevail, Ecclesia Centre envisions a haven of hope. Randall and Heidi Louw, the founders, aim to create a stable, loving home where at-risk children, including teen mothers, can heal, grow, and potentially reintegrate into society. The shelter will be situated on Belleview Farm, near Villiersdorp, committed to addressing the needs of abandoned, neglected, and abused teenagers.
Ecclesia Centre, already making a significant impact in Villiersdorp, houses facilities such as Infant and Child Care, a Resource Centre, and Essential Youth Counselling Services. Recognizing the needs expressed by the community, the Ecclesia Haven of Hope Shelter for Girls project expands its services to create a safe haven for those who need it the most.
• Provide comfort and restoration for youth from broken homes.
• Instill admirable moral values and principles.
• Equip youth with tools to improve their education.
• Contribute to community upliftment through key intervention programs.
• Promote Early Childhood Development for a brighter future.
Ecclesia Centre is backed by a competent and trained management team overseeing day-to-day operations. The Governing Board, comprised of individuals with expertise in education, early childhood development, and business management, ensures effective governance, fundraising, and asset management.
Shelters provide secure accommodation and essential services for those at risk or subjected to violence.
Shelters contribute to awareness-raising, social change, and prevention efforts against violence.
Survivors of violence often do not seek help; shelters play a crucial role in breaking down barriers.
• Objective: Offer a safe residence for girls and women who have survived abusive situations.
• Target Beneficiaries: 0 - 18-year-old children and 18–35 girls and women from marginalized families and communities.
• Activities and Outputs: Care and accommodation, professional care, individual development, support services, financial support.
A comprehensive marketing strategy will be implemented to inform community stakeholders through various channels, emphasizing the impact of the programs on the community and the role of relevant government departments.
Institutional and financial sustainability are at the forefront. Capacity-building workshops, effective governance, and financial responsibility will ensure the organization's longevity. Self-generated income opportunities will be explored.
Renovations and infrastructure upgrading are needed for the shelter. Monthly running costs covering necessities such as food, rent, staff costs, and transportation are crucial for sustainability.
Other needs are basic things like: beds, cupboards, bed linen, couches, all types of kitchen equipment, a washing machine, tumble dryer, crockery, study desks and computers, etc. It would be greatly appreciated if you could assist with any of the above. A financial contribution to the account number provided below, is also welcome. We are a registered PBO for tax purposes.

Our beloved Ecclesia Centre was recently flooded, and we need your help to get back on our feet!
At Ecclesia Centre, our mission is to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
Besides the Feeding Scheme and Youth Projects, Ecclesia Centre also have an ECD facility that takes care of 60-plus children every day.
Louhanri and her mom Vemari Kotze Els blessed our kids with a visit and some sweet treats.
The Ecclesia Centre’s team is still saving every cent possible towards purchasing a small bakkie or van for food collections and meal deliveries.
