Leather Repairs and Custom Leatherwork Gansba...
Meet Mike Kemp, a skilled leather craftsman based in De Kelders, Gansbaai.
GreenPop recently hosted the 5th annual Reforest Festivals at Platbos Forest outside of Gansbaai and it resulted in the planting of 8001 trees!
First was the Reforest Family Festival held on 8 – 10 May. This is a great initiative for families to get involved in and also teach kids about the importance of trees and giving back to nature. The weekend included camping, family-orientated activities, yoga, educational talks, planting trees and also a talent show. The Family Fest music line-up included:
Zoe and Vusa (Campfire tunes)
Lemonella (Festival resident DJ)
Riaan Smit and Nhoza
Paige Mac
The Reforest Friends Festival was next on 15 – 17 May. The Friends Fest is all about connecting with friends and nature and having a good time. The Friday night saw a bit of rain, but that didn’t stop the young tree-lovers from planting over 5000 trees on Saturday. And to celebrate there was the following line-up:
Riaan Smit and Nhoza (Campfire tunes)
Warongx
Dear Mrs Panda
Sean Koch
Betsy Beers
Ryan Kidwell
The Royal Commoners
Sons of Settlers
The Howlers
Jews for Techno
Festival-goers can camp out in the Platbos Forest or decide to stay in nearby accommodation for the weekend. The whole weekend is catered for and if need be transport can be organised from Cape Town and surrounds. The Reforest Festivals take place every year during the month of May and is a great way for friends and families to connect with each other, connect with others, connect with nature.
