16 - 19 September 2021: 'What the Buddha Taught' Retreat

Date: 16 - 19 September 2021

In this introduction to Buddhism retreat we take up the possibility (and necessity) to be a fully awake human - a Buddha - at this critical junction in our evolution.

The retreat begins by becoming oriented of where you are along your path to liberation. Are you at a threshold about to depart into the un-chartered territory of discovering your True Self? Are you at another kind of threshold having discovered something essential and considering how best to deliver your gift to your world? Or, are you somewhere on the journey between departure and arrival?

Any evolutionary life path and its stages of development, insight, and integration, necessitates shedding the old and adopting what's new. This change is constant and comes with a degree of suffering. We will explore what suffering is, how to suffer gracefully, and how it is possible to put an end to all suffering and other impediments so we can be spontaneous, joyous and pain-free.

As a gathered Sangha we will look into what the Buddha taught (Dharma) - from what he realised from his own journey from being an entitled, privileged captive to an enlightened, responsible liberator. You will be invited to see the Buddha's journey as your own and verify for yourself the efficacy of this wisdom and how it can help you navigate the Way of inner truth.

Like the cardinal points of a compass, Buddhism's Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path become bright beacons for lighting the path to becoming an awakened human.

Your true medicine is needed at this time.
