Timely waste collection even on Public Holidays.
Overstrand waste collection teams work on public holidays, adhering to the existing schedule to ensure waste is picked up as planned.
The collection of clear bags (recyclable waste) typically occurs on the same day, and in most cases, by the same team and vehicle responsible for collecting black bag waste.
Depending on the area being serviced, the team may either collect the two waste streams separately, requiring two collection runs, or use the crew cab and hopper to store recyclables separately from the general waste. In either case, clear bags are either placed at central collection points or transported directly to the Materials Recovery Facility, depending on the facility's proximity.
At no point should the waste collection staff be compacting both clear and black bags together into the truck body.
