Fascinating Facts: Cocktail Ants in Action
Did you know? Cocktail ants build carton nests using well-chewed plant material. When disturbed, they swarm out of the nest with raised gasters (or tails), earning them their name as they "cock" their tails. While they don't sting, they release a volatile (and stinky) fluid when threatened.
