Fiscal Flycatcher Babies Thrive
Our parting shot this week is of the fiscal flycatcher babies that were born a week ago in a nest just outside our office.
Our dedicated staff members from all foundation programmes recently had the pleasure of walking a new hiking trail on the Groot Private Nature Reserve. This enriching experience allowed them to ensure the path was well cut and clearly marked, while also spending quality time together and embracing the joy of nature.
Guided by the expertise of our Conservation Research Unit, our team members - coaches, volunteers, field rangers, research scientists, interns, enterprise facilitators, office administrators, teachers, and more - immersed themselves in the wild. They had the unique opportunity to experience our programmes just like our Earth Rangers and ambassadors for fynbos.
What a wonderful opportunity it was for everyone to connect, learn, and grow amidst the beauty of our natural surroundings!

Thank you for the kind messages of concern and care this week as an early summer fynbos fire burned between Gansbaai and Stanford.
The view at Grootbos shows a clear outline of where the fire moved towards the Walker Bay area and onto the reserve.
From all of us at Grootbos Foundation, we wish you a fabulous weekend full of wild discoveries.
