Check out these Sundevall's Shovel-snouts (Prosymna sundevallii), a small, harmless snake species with a very specialised diet, feeding exclusively on gecko eggs!
This special sighting was made on Friday, 11 October 2024, in the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, marking only the second record of this elusive species in the Walker Bay region.
Their unique presence is a reminder of the rich biodiversity we are privileged to protect and study here at Grootbos Foundation.
