Fiscal Flycatcher Babies Thrive
Our parting shot this week is of the fiscal flycatcher babies that were born a week ago in a nest just outside our office.
Joyce Mtsha is a hardworking business owner who leads a team of biodiversity stewards. They clear invasive plants from wild fynbos to help protect the environment.
Thanks to good planning and steady work, Joyce was recently able to buy a second vehicle. This means she can now get her teams into far-off areas where their help is needed most.
Joyce saved carefully, built strong working relationships, and made sure her teams always did a good job. Because of this, she got more contracts to clear alien plants, and her business has grown.
Her teams are proud to be part of this important work. Every day, they help look after the land and support nature.
We’re proud of Joyce and what she’s achieved.

Thank you for the kind messages of concern and care this week as an early summer fynbos fire burned between Gansbaai and Stanford.
The view at Grootbos shows a clear outline of where the fire moved towards the Walker Bay area and onto the reserve.
From all of us at Grootbos Foundation, we wish you a fabulous weekend full of wild discoveries.
