Mushroom Season at Grootbos
Do you know your mushrooms?

Straight from a fynbos fairytale, meet Amanita muscaria, also known as Fly Agaric.
With its striking red-and-white cap, this curious fungus is as enchanting as it is practical, a watery solution of it has been used as a natural fly repellent for centuries.
But take note: this mushroom is not for eating, it’s for magic potions only!
From all of us at Grootbos Foundation, we wish you a weekend full of flowers, wonder, and the kind of beauty that catches you by surprise.
