Grootbos Foundation Youth Sports and Training
Athletics and cross country training took place at Groeneweide Nursery and farm outside Franskraal this week...

This week has brought beautiful sunshine to the Walker Bay Region and Grootbos Foundation has seized each moment to enjoy the outdoors! Our Feelgood update begins with some pictures from the Earth Rangers camp which kicked off today at the Grootbos Environmental Centre, a beautiful off-grid facility where simplicity allows visitors to truly notice nature. These children from Masakhane Primary School have just completed an 8 session programme designed to connect children to the nature around them through learning and outdoors experiences.

One of the previous Earth Ranger sessions took place last week when Grootbos Foundation staff took children to the beach at Walker Bay Nature Reserve. They cleaned up the beach but also soaked up the experience of simply noticing and enjoying the coastline in the area surrounding their hometown. Maybe one of these young people will decide to follow a career in nature, and maybe another will forever remember to be mindful of the impact of human activity, business, agriculture and industry on nature.
