Welcome to our spring edition of the Gym Newsletter!

As we bid farewell to the winter chill and embrace the budding beauty of spring, we can't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. With the arrival of this delightful season, we know that summer vacations and sunny days are just around the corner. And what better way to enjoy the blissful warmth than by prioritizing your well-being and feeling your absolute best?

At Health and Active, we believe that summer holidays are about more than just sandy beaches and picturesque destinations – they're about feeling fantastic from the inside out. That's why we are here to ignite your motivation and help you embark on a journey of not only physical transformation but mental rejuvenation as well.

Joining our gym extends far beyond the typical concept of fitness. It's about creating a supportive community where you can grow, dream, and thrive. Our facilities provide a space for you to work towards your goals, both inside and outside the gym. Now with that being said, we have a fantastic opportunity for all our dedicated gym members to participate in a series of exciting challenges! By pushing your limits and conquering these challenges, you'll not only get closer to achieving your summer body goals but also become part of a supportive and motivating community. Joining these challenges enhances your accountability towards your fitness routine, as it encourages you to stay consistent. Moreover, by engaging with fellow participants, you'll build strong relationships, find inspiration, and gain endless support on your fitness journey. Let's seize this moment and challenge ourselves together to unlock our full potential - spring is the perfect time to take your fitness goals to new heights!

 
Challenges for September:

1. The Health and Active 4-week transformation challenge:

This is the perfect opportunity to kickstart your summer body. Measurements and weight will be taken at the start of the challenge 28 August and again on the last day, 25 September. The person with the best percentage improvement on their own body will win the challenge. The entry fee is R100 and the winner takes it all (the winner will win all the money from all the entries and a Sport RX supplement hamper).

All members welcome.

2. The tug of war challenge:

We are thrilled to announce the start of our exciting tug of war challenge! We encourage our members to gather your friends and form teams of three individuals to participate in this thrilling competition. Every Friday, we will be hosting tug of war matches, where each team will have the opportunity to showcase their strength and teamwork. The competition will continue weekly until we crown a champion team. The winning teams of each week will have the honour of challenging each other in thrilling battles, building up to the ultimate face-off with the gym management team in a final match. Are you ready to pull your way to victory? Gather your team, show off your strength, and let the tug of war games begin!

3. The mini-triathlon challenge:

We want to invite each member to join us in our exciting indoor mini-triathlon challenge! Starting from the 1st of September, this challenge promises to be a thrilling test of your stamina and speed. The challenge will consist of a 500-meter rowing machine session, followed by a 1000-meter air bike ride, and finally a 100-meter sprint on the vibrant green synthetic lawn in our gym. We will be keeping track of each participant's total time to complete all three activities, and proudly display the results on our blackboard for everyone to see. Don't miss out on this exhilarating opportunity to showcase your fitness levels and compete with fellow members. Mark your calendars and be ready to push your limits in our indoor mini-triathlon challenge!

 
Exiting promotions for September:

Calling all fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals, in other words you, our members to tell your friends and family about these promotions. This September, we're presenting our unbeatable promotions that make joining our gym a rewarding experience for you and your loved ones. Picture this: join on the 1st of September, and not only will they kick-start their fitness journey with us, but they will also receive the entire month of September as a complimentary membership, along with a jaw-dropping 50% discount on the joining fee! But that's not all. For the rest and entire month of September, anyone who joins our gym will be gifted a stylish branded gym towel, perfect for those invigorating workouts. So, seize the moment, grab your friends and family, and let's embark on a month of fitness, fun, and fabulous rewards. Together, we'll sculpt a healthier and happier you!

Other exciting changes from 1 September to enhance your experience at Health and Active:

1. Free Wi-Fi for members

We're ecstatic to announce that starting from September 1st, complimentary Wi-Fi will be accessible to all gym members. Now you can stay connected while you work towards your fitness goals. To get connected, simply inquire at the reception desk for the Wi-Fi password.

2. Weekly weight training and interval training workouts on the blackboard

A new enhancement to our fitness offerings starting September 1st. In addition to our group instructed classes, we will be introducing a dynamic change to our workout routines. Each week, we will provide you with a specialized weight training program focused on building and strengthening muscles in a specific body part. Alongside this, we are introducing interval workout programs designed to facilitate weight loss and toning. These workouts will be meticulously crafted to maximize your results and keep your fitness journey engaging. Embrace the opportunity to take charge of your workout schedule, as these programs can be performed independently on the gym floor using the available equipment. We believe this addition will empower you to achieve your fitness goals more comprehensively. Find these programs posted on our blackboard, refreshed every Friday. If you have any questions or need guidance, our qualified staff members are more than happy to assist you and provide instructions for the exercises. Get ready for an exciting journey of progress and self-driven accomplishments!

3. New hybrid classes replacing our Tuesday step class and our Wednesday morning stretch class:

Introducing our latest addition to the class schedule - the Hybrid Class! Get ready to experience the ultimate fusion of fitness in a dynamic and innovative format. Join us every Tuesday evening at 17:30 and every Wednesday morning at 08:00 for 45 minutes of exhilarating workouts that transcend traditional boundaries. Our Hybrid Class is a unique blend of fitness disciplines, combining elements from step classes, body combat, and a variety of interval training workouts. Whether you're into stepping, combat-style movements, or prefer the challenge of weights and bodyweight exercises, this class has something for everyone. Unleash your potential, break through plateaus, and redefine your fitness journey with the power of hybrid training. Are you ready to revolutionize your workouts?

 
Farewell to Nicola:

As Nicola embark on this beautiful journey of motherhood, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for the incredible impact she's had on all of us at Health and Active. Her dedication, energy, enthusiasm, unwavering commitment and passion as our Step instructor since 2015 have touched numerous lives and left an indelible mark on our gym community.

Thank you, Nicola, for all the years you've poured into Health and Active and for everything you've done to make our gym a better place. Your legacy will continue to inspire us even as you move on to new adventures. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
