Location: Gansbaai, South Africa
Dive site: Joubertsdam
Water temp: Moderate
Visibility: Poor-Moderate
Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Cape fur seals, African penguins + Bryde’s whale
Summary: An adventurous departure for our first trip today as we made our way around Danger Point from Gansbaai Harbour! The scenic route provided the opportunity to witness now only the Bryde’s whale but also multiple rafts of the critically endangered African penguins feeding amongst coastal birds on a large bait ball. On arrival at anchor, the Bronze whaler sharks promptly arrived and divers soon joined them in the water to get up close and personal. Thank you to all who joined us on board Slashfin today!
