As rabies continues to impact seals along our coastline, it's essential for dog owners to keep their pets on a leash.
MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OF THE PEARLY BEACH RATEPAYERS’ ASSOCIATION HELD AT 15H15 ON THE 31 AUGUST 2023 AT THE ANGLING CLUB, PEARLY BEACH.
PRESENT:

APPROVAL OF MINUTES DATED 6 JULY 2023
The July 2023 minutes were approved. Proposed by Trevor and seconded by Ald Coetzee.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND MAINTENANCE
Cllr Fourie is still attempting to obtain permission to remove the Telkom poles. It was noted that there are no longer any Telkom landlines in Pearly Beach.
The tap for the drinking fountain will be erected at the entrance to the Fynbos Garden on the Village Green when time permits.
There has been no further feedback from Liezl de Villiers regarding the wildlife signage around the village.
The street map has been printed and is ready for painting by Ronel Smuts. This will then be laminated and erected on the wall at the entrance to the village.
Jason has written to all three security companies regarding the problem with alarm sirens in unoccupied homes. Only one response was received and no solutions were forthcoming.
The walkway to Pearly Beach is damaged. Jason will take a photograph and forward it to Shirley who will contact the municipality.
Afsaal Road towards the resort is in need of repairs. This has been reported to the municipality.
FINANCE AND MEMBERSHIP
The Financial statement is attached to the original of this minute.
No new membership applications have been received.
BUILDING PLANS AND DEVELOPMENTS
These were not available at the time of our meeting.
GENERAL
Collaborator Citizen is working extremely well. Cllr Fourie encouraged the committee to install the app on their phones and to make use of this form of communication with the municipality.
With nothing further to discuss, the meeting was closed at 15h45.
Pearly Beach Ratepayers Association is a non-profit organisation that aims to preserve the beauty and integrity of Pearly Beach. Regarding all community affairs, the association is a direct link between local ratepayers and the Overstrand Municipality.
