After the essential introductory practice lesson, participants can draw inspiration from their own world, the History of Art, turn favourite 2D paintings into 3D sculptures eg Modigliani Chagall Picasso, Biblical figures, Ancient Greek sculpture, Roman Egyptian Etruscan. Or portraits of people you know, imagine or wish they existed.
A variety of art books and visual materials will be available to look at or take notes.
Bring along your digital camera or smartphones- in case you find something interesting you would like to use. An image from some obscure magazine or an old book, the internet might have missed.
People who miss a class will be able to make up for that time at pre-arranged lessons. Not applicable to the introductory class.
Convert the bust or half torso into plant containers, bird feeders, hiding places for personal objects or a “hanger” for earrings, beads and other jewellery on your dressing table.
I will help you individually with the execution of your ideas should you need it. May you also, like some excited beginners, get so involved in your sculptures that you start talking to them and forget all about the people around you!
