New Recycling Swop Shop in Blompark
Our new Recycle Swop Shop in Blompark opened yesterday, 28 July 2022 and it was a massive success! There were 275 children who brought recycling items and in return received a reward from our Swop Shop as well as a warm cup of vegetable soup!
The new Swop Shop in Blompark will be assisting a thousand children per week. The children will exchange recyclable plastics and paper which they have collected from home, school and the streets for school stationery, toiletries, pre-loved clothing, blankets and toys. Each child will get a cup of nourishing soup to fill their tummies afterwards.
How you can help
The shop relies entirely on donations and you can make a difference by volunteering or by donating stock for the shop.
If you have any old school clothes, toys or other donations, they can be dropped off at the Gansbaai Tourism office.
Thank you for helping us keep our ocean clean
Hundreds and thousands of tons of plastic pollution will be stopped from being blown into our ocean by this project.
This project is in collaboration with the Overstrand Municipality, Child Protection Services, Aire Del Mar Guest House and Gansbaai Tourism.
