How to Overcome Limiting Beliefs and Grow You...
When you step out of the box, you discover a new world that awaits.
KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. LET THAT BECOME YOUR FIRST STEP.
You need a map, and you hold it within.
My invitation to you today is simple: Take the next seven days to decide what you really want from your business.
Not what you think you should want. Not what other entrepreneurs are achieving. Not what your family, your clients, or society expects of you.
What do you want?
Before you answer, let me ask you a question.
Have you ever set out on a journey without knowing where you were going? You had no idea what clothing to pack, what transport you would need, or whether you required a passport or a visa. You hadn't considered the route, the costs, or what you might encounter along the way.
You simply started travelling.
But here's the bigger question: Did you arrive at the destination you wanted?
Running a business without a clear picture of what you want can feel remarkably similar.
You wake up every morning, attend to the demands of the day, solve problems, respond to clients, manage your responsibilities, and work hard. At the end of the day, you are exhausted.
But are you moving towards the business you dreamed of creating, or are you simply becoming more efficient at managing what is already there?
There is nothing wrong with being busy. Your business needs your attention, and some days will inevitably be about keeping things running.
But busyness without direction can leave you feeling as though you are working incredibly hard without getting any closer to where you want to be.
And that is why I want you to pause.
You don't have to be someone who enjoys setting goals, drawing up elaborate plans, or measuring every aspect of your progress. But you do need a clear picture of your destination.
You need to know what you want your business to become and what you want your life to look like along the way.
So, over the next seven days, give yourself the space to explore these questions.
WHY DO YOU WAKE UP EVERY MORNING?
Beyond the responsibilities and the need to earn an income, what motivates you? What makes your business meaningful to you? What do you want it to make possible in your life?
WHERE ARE YOU SPENDING YOUR ENERGY?
Look honestly at your days. How much of your time goes towards maintaining what already exists, and how much goes towards creating what you want next?
WHAT WAS THE PICTURE YOU HAD WHEN YOU STARTED YOUR BUSINESS?
Perhaps you dreamed of financial independence, flexibility, a thriving enterprise, or the freedom to turn your passion into a living.
What did you imagine your life would look like?
IS THAT PICTURE STILL RELEVANT?
You are allowed to change your mind. You have grown, learned, and experienced things you could never have anticipated when you first started.
Perhaps your dream has changed. That is perfectly fine.
But make sure you have a picture of what you want now.
WHAT IS YOUR INTENTION?
What do you want your business to create, not only financially, but in the way you live, the people you serve, and the person you become?
Don't rush these questions. Sit with them. Write down your thoughts. Allow yourself to imagine possibilities without immediately deciding whether they are practical, affordable, or achievable.
There will be time to work out the details.
First, you need to know where you want to go.
Your destination gives your decisions direction.
When you know what you want, you have a reference point against which to consider the questions, challenges, and opportunities that arise.
Does this decision move me towards my destination?
Is this where I want to spend my energy?
Does this opportunity support the business I am trying to create?
What needs to change for me to take the next step?
You begin to make decisions with greater intention rather than simply reacting to whatever demands your attention.
And remember, knowing what you want does not mean knowing exactly how to achieve it.
You don't need the entire route mapped out before you begin. Sometimes the next step becomes visible only after you have taken the first one.
Think of your destination as the coordinates you enter into your GPS. You may encounter unexpected turns, roadworks, or a route that no longer serves you. You can adjust your direction without abandoning your destination.
Your plan can change. Your circumstances can change. You can even choose a new destination. What matters is that you are consciously deciding where you want to go.
Because your vision is more than your WHY.
It is the picture you carry in your mind. It is the direction behind your daily actions. It is the intention that helps you decide where to invest your time, attention, and resources.
It is the excitement of planning a journey, imagining what awaits you, and knowing that each step brings you closer to something you genuinely want.
Can you remember that feeling when you first started your business? The excitement of talking about your ideas, imagining what was possible, and seeing opportunities everywhere?
You can reconnect with that feeling.
Not by pretending the challenges don't exist, but by giving yourself something meaningful to move towards.
Your first step starts with you.
Over the next seven days, I invite you to spend a little time each day exploring what you want.
Write it down. Picture it. Ask yourself what it would look like in practice.
Then identify one small action you can take towards it.
You don't need to transform your entire business in a week. You need to begin creating a clearer picture of where you want to go and allow that picture to influence what you do next.
You are the entrepreneur. You are the person who brings the vision to life, one decision and one action at a time.
Know what you want. Let that become your first step.
Because when you have a destination in mind, the journey becomes more than a series of responsibilities to get through.
It becomes something you are actively creating.
And that is where the excitement can begin again.
