This week, chess took centre stage! From a Grandmaster vs Local Youth session to the nail-biting Freestyle Grand Slam Final, brains and strategy were put to the ultimate test.

Chess has captured our hearts and minds this week! It all started with the Grandmaster vs Local Youth Simultaneous Chess session last Friday. The excitement continued yesterday with the Freestyle Grand Slam Final at Grootbos Lodge. In a thrilling showdown, Levon Aronian defeated Magnus Carlsen, proving that freestyle chess is full of surprises and challenges, even for the most agile and strategic minds of our time. What a game!

Congratulations to Levon Aronian on winning the Freestyle Grand Slam South Africa!

Magnus Carlsen secured the title for the overall Freestyle Grand Slam Tour.
