Here's a beauty... Palpares speciosus are beautiful antlions with intricate wings found in mountain fynbos habitats, especially flitting around at night.
Their larvae are fierce predators, waiting patiently at the base of vegetation under the cover of sand grains for unsuspecting passing prey, with massive jaws often even bigger than the antlion's head!
