The next step in the Employability Programme is attending the workplace experience interview in which participants apply for the opportunity to work for 2 weeks in a real place of work, for which they will receive a stipend. The workplace experience is often viewed as the highlight of this particular pathway to employment as it provides a genuine, tangible life experience that develops confidence and understanding of the world of work. 41 young people from Gansbaai, Stanford and Zwelihle attended the interview round; 20 will be placed in real work environments suited to their individual interests.
