Welcoming Siphokazi, Our New Conservation Intern

Welcome to our newest conservation intern, who joined the team this week: Hi, I’m Siphokazi, the new Conservation Intern at the Grootbos Foundation. I recently completed my MSc in Conservation Ecology and Entomology at Stellenbosch University, where my research focused on the invasive potential and management of Melaleuca species in South Africa. I’m excited to be at Grootbos because I want to gain more practical, hands-on experience in conservation and learn how ecological research is applied in the field. I’m particularly looking forward to getting involved in the different research and biodiversity projects, learning from the team, and gaining a deeper understanding of the unique ecosystems of the Cape Floral Kingdom. I’m excited for the opportunity to learn, contribute and experience conservation from a different perspective! Welcome, Siphokazi.
