Marine Dynamics is pleased to have received the National Lilizela Award at a glittering event in Johannesburg. Yolanda Smit of Marine Dynamics received the award from Minister Derek Hanekom. Marine Dynamics won the Western Cape Lilizela award in September and was the ultimate winner in South Africa for the Marine Adventure category for Visitor Experience. This is the second time Marine Dynamics has won, having previously done so in 2016.
Lilizela Tourism Awards recognises and rewards those individuals and businesses that place South Africa high on the agenda as a must-visit tourist destination. An initiative of the National Department of Tourism (NDT) and spearheaded by South African Tourism (SAT), the Lilizela Awards have been taking place since 2012 with an annual, star-studded ceremony. The local travel industry's best products, experiences and people - across a range of categories are judged by a 28-member panel of experts from all over the industry. The public contributes 80% of the scores, through voting and trip advisor reviews, and the judges consider this when evaluating the finalists.
“Marine Dynamics won the National award in 2016 and we are proud to do so again. I have surrounded myself with an amazing team of people and we are always in search of excellence. We thank all of our fantastic and long-term partners in tourism for their support,” said Wilfred Chivell, CEO of Marine Dynamics.
