Saxon Lodge carries the charm of old-school hospitality - a place where warmth, space, and a sense of belonging come together. 

Whether you're travelling solo, as a couple, or in a group, we offer sea view suites and standard room options to suit most budgets. Breakfast is generous and vegetarian-friendly, and dinners can be arranged with love and care.

For those seeking a private retreat, the entire lodge is available for exclusive bookings, sleeping up to 22 guests - ideal for conferences, multi-generational family gatherings, and special interest groups. Catering options are available, or you can enjoy the freedom of self-catering in our well-equipped kitchen.

And if you’re an animal lover, you’ll find our resident cat, Ninja, and our friendly dog, Lulu, adding to the homely feel.

Suites and Rooms @ Saxon

Saxon Lodge offers a choice between a family suite, superior suites and standard rooms.

Family Suite (wheelchair accessible)

(sleeps four)

The family suite is a two-bedroom apartment which opens to a private patio in the garden. There are two single beds in the living area.

The bedroom has a King-size bed, and the ensuite bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet.

Superior Suites - Bed & Breakfast

(sleep two)

The Superior Suites have private patios with lovely views of the garden, plunge pool and Walker Bay. 

Each suite has a lounge and a King-size bed which can be separated into two single beds. Some suites have bathrooms with a bath, shower, basin and toilet, while others have a shower, basin and toilet. 

Two of the suites are self-catering and are available for extended-stay guests.

Standard Rooms - Bed & Breakfast

(sleep two)

The Standard Rooms share a communal lobby kitchenette area and are perfect for a combination booking for groups of up to seven people.

Each room has a lounge and a King-size or double bed. The bathrooms have a shower, basin and toilet.

Please Note:

• Children under 12 years old pay 50%, 
• Children under two years old stay for free
• Group, corporate and conference rates will be quoted based on requirements
• Long-term bookings are possible and will be quoted based on requirements
• The Courtyard suites are not graded, however, they are maintained at the same high standard as Saxon Lodge (they are a budget option and useful for guides and drivers)
• Guide rate - pay 60% with no STO commission payable if the group stays at Saxon Lodge
• Guide rate - pay standard rates for groups not staying at Saxon Lodge

Meals

• Breakfast is included in the rate, and dinner is prepared in the onsite restaurant as a meal-of-the-day
• Dinner, bed & breakfast rates are available for groups of six or more
• Self-catering facilities are available in two rooms (Southern Cross and Dolphin)
• Please note that cash discounts instead of meals don’t apply unless arranged by the booking authority
• Dietary preferences can be catered to with prior arrangements (vegetarian, vegan, halal, food sensitivities)

Saxon Lodge offers the exclusive services of a ceremonial facilitator for weddings and vow renewals.

The lodge’s owner, Caron Lee, will work closely with you to craft personalised vows as unique as the love you and your partner share.

Whether setting out on a marine adventure to see whales, sharks, and seabirds, strolling the rugged coastline in quiet awe, or immersing yourself in fields of fynbos, Gansbaai is a place for those who feel the pull of nature. The town offers unique experiences like e-biking through the fynbos, fat-biking across the dunes, and horse riding along the shoreline - all highly rated among the Western Cape’s top adventures.
