Lunar Occultation of Saturn & Titan

Lunar Occultation of Saturn & Titan

Southern Cape Astronomy Club

Lunar occultation of Saturn and Titan:

On the morning of Friday 29th March, the Moon will occult Saturn and its system of Satellites. The table gives the times of the first contact (A-D) and last contact (E-H) of the rings (A, D, E, H) and planetary limb (B, C, F, G), with the Moon.

The time of disappearance of Titan is also listed.  The upper diagram shows the approximate configuration of the satellites Minas (M), Dione, (D), Enceladus (E), Tethys (T), Rhea (R) and Titan.

Times are South Africa Standard Times (SAST).
