Hermanus Bench Press Competition 2026

The newly formed Western Cape Bench Press Association, founded by Johan Kruger of PROactive Fitness, will host its first competition on 14 November at the spectacular Amphitheatre next to the Old Harbour in Hermanus. And the main event?

Precious Jambo vs Juandré Viviers

Two of South Africa’s top bench press athletes are finally going head-to-head after two years of avoiding each other on the platform.

Precious Jambo is one of the country’s top pound-for-pound pressers, while Juandré Viviers is the current South African record holder. This is one battle you do NOT want to miss!

The competition is also open to novice lifters, so coaches, if you have a client who would like to compete in their age and bodyweight category, please forward the poster and get them involved.
