The Animal Welfare Society of South Africa recently received a cash donation that will help them pay for animals in the hospital during the lockdown.

Cape Town, South Africa (21 January 2021) - The Animal Welfare Society of South Africa (AWS) were recently the recipients of a lovely cash donation that will go a long way to helping animals in need.

AWS has seen just how hard the lockdown and pandemic have been on families. They were approached by the Chas Everitt International Property Group during 2020 and offered the opportunity to become a beneficiary of their charitable project.

The company committed to donating a percentage of its 2020 sales profits to AWS. They handed over to checks yesterday which will go a long way to making a difference during these very hard times.

“Yesterday afternoon Chas Everitt, represented by one of their accomplished real estate agents and an animal welfare veteran Vicky Butler from their Cape Agulhas office, drove all the way from her base in Napier to deliver on their promise of a percentage of the proceeds of the sale of a select portfolio of properties that they sold during the course of last year.

Vicky, true to form, delivered in style by proudly handing over not one but two cheques totalling R18 797.50 to our Chairman Dr Jim McNamara and CEO Dr John McMullen (Dr Mac).

With these generous donations, we intend to invest in the care of Hospital patients owned by caring indigent pet owners who are suffering unimaginable hardship at this unprecedented time.

Vicky, on behalf of those who have no voice, THANK YOU from the tips of our little wet noses to the end of our wagging tails.”

Allan Perrins, the AWS Communications Officers hopes that more real estate companies will commit to giving back to animal welfare organisations in need.

“Having the support of an international partner like Chas Everitt is a HUGE deal for our Society and HUGELY beneficial to the impoverished and destitute communities that we serve.

This collaboration is going to save countless pets lives and prevent countless litters of kittens and puppies from being born into a life of unimaginable hardship” - Allan Perrins
