How to Live in the Now and Reduce Anxiety

Want to know how to live in the now? Eliminate your anxiety.

We constantly hear that we must live in the now. The now is where we create the future. The only reality is now.

All good and well, but there is so much to worry about: paying the bills, being a good parent or spouse, achieving our goals, etc. We tell ourselves that we cannot afford to be in “the now,” that it is a luxury not for us. We must plan and be prepared for the future. We must always be a step ahead if we want to stay ahead.

The truth is that through our anxiety, we plant seeds of possible disaster that might never happen. When you live in anxiety, disaster is more likely to materialise. When we plan for the worst, we look out for the worst, and we forget to look out for the opportunity and the good.

Anxiety is a state created through our thought processes of living in the future and past instead of living in the present, where we can make things happen. Being well-prepared does not mean you have dreamt up every possible disastrous scenario and are ready. Being prepared means that I have done my work, I am focused on the goal, I understand that the path will not be direct, I am ready to grow in the process, and I am going to give it my best. Anxiety stems from resisting the potential for growth and discovering your greatness.

Are you ready to be great?
