De Hoop Collection makes for a blissful nature retreat - and as it turns out, one well suited to yoga getaways! This year, no fewer than 3 workshops will be held at the beautifully restored, and historic Melkkamer Homestead at De Hoop:

17-20 May: YogaSpirit Retreat with Kate Ball

Deepen your yoga practice with a yoga retreat in this pristine and scenic setting, guided by Kate Ball of YogaSpirit in Constantia. Melkkamer will provide the ideal getaway for the quest of inner peace through yoga practice in upmarket accommodation in the peaceful and secluded homestead.
Kate’s love of yoga stems from the transforming power it’s had in her own life. She has been teaching since 2007, and has trained in Vinyasa and Forrest yoga. Kate has taught in the USA, India and at Cape Town’s SpiritFest in 2012 and 2013. She feels deeply fortunate to share yoga with others, and teaches classes centred on love, honesty and present moment awareness. Music features strongly in her classes, as does strength, precision and breath. Kate directs YogaSpirit in Constantia Village.

25-28 May and 3-6 August: Yoga with Marianne Wiid: Cultivate Peace & Tranquility in De Hoop.

The three-day Retreat, from Friday afternoon until after breakfast on Monday morning,  will be a combination of fresh air, restorative yoga and nature walks in the tranquil setting in a meditative space which will recharge and revitalise your energy and unify your body, mind and spirit.

The Retreat includes not only yoga workshops, pranayama, asanas, restorative yoga and sun salutations on the Koppie Alleen dunes, but also sundowners which you can enjoy while watching the pelicans and flamingoes on the vlei, stargazing, bird and marine walks (at low tide) along the spectacular rocky shores to Koppie Alleen and a picnic outing.

Marianne Wiid is a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher. She teaches regular yoga classes at her Hermanus studio, ‘My Yoga Space’ and also in Stanford.
Marianne approaches life holistically and combines her passion for Yoga and the ‘bringing of joy to others’ in all aspects of her life. She recognises Yoga as a ‘continuous journey’, which allows her to guide her students with compassion towards a fulfilled vision of a joyous and peaceful life.
She has travelled several times to Pune, India for training at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute(RIMYI), which is the mother institute of Iyengar Yoga. She regularly attends courses with visiting international teachers.
