Breathtaking Winter Views Across Grootbos and...
The parting shot this week is actually in two parts taken across the landscape today, which was a glorious winter's day.

Fourteen athletes from Team Stanford took part in the South African Canoe Sprint Championships in Pretoria, ranging from U12 to 55+ age groups. The event spanned three intense days of racing, featuring K1 and K2 distances of: 1000m, 500m, 200m, and the ‘long distances’ 2km and 5km. Our Stanford athletes gave their absolute all and were incredible to watch on the race course, making their way into finals and some even placing on the podium.

This support ensured the team could travel to the SA National Sprint Championships and gave them the perfect conditions under which to excel and race at their very best.

One of the proudest highlights was CJ being crowned the Under 23 South African champion for the 200m sprint.
Hayward and CJ won gold medals in the K2 200m making them the fastest under 23 combination in SA.
We are so proud of these two young men who have been a part of our canoeing programme since the first trip to SA champs eight years ago where most of the Stanford paddlers finished close to the back of the field in all their races. We are so proud to see persistence and dedication paying off.
