Councillors who have served more than ten uninterrupted years as a councillor, received the so called Status of Alderman.
This function was recently held by the Overberg District Municipality’s last Ordinary Council Meeting for the current term of Council.
During a special ceremony the handover of certificates took place. The certificates conferred the status of Alderman.
The Speaker, Ald. Johan Nieuwoudt, handed these certificates in recognition of exceptional achievements and delivering meritorious services in the interest of the Municipality.
The Speaker congratulated the new Aldermen of Overberg District Municipality and thanked them for their loyal and devoted services to the Municipality.
