The Dyer Island Conservation Trust believes that people protect what they love and it was with this in mind that they introduced a group of young learners to their first southern right whale and other marine species.
The DEEP BLUE Ambassadors is the Dyer Island Conservation Trust Environmental Education Programme with a group of dedicated learners from Masakhane Primary School. These young ladies form part of a three year project which instils the passion for marine conservation and lays the groundwork for future skills training. The group were spoilt to an unforgettable, life changing experience on Saturday the 27th of August when they went whale watching with Dyer Island Cruises. It was their first time at sea and they were all intrigued by the size of the whales. Seeing the animals live was such a great pleasure for them as it was for their science teacher, Miss Nobesuthu Ntsomi.
