Villiersdorp Weather

The weather in Villiersdorp is sublime enough to enjoy aspects of this tranquil town all year around.

Villiersdorp and the surrounding countryside have vineyards, magnificent gardens and flower farms that blossom from October to December. The town reaches its peak temperatures in February and has a summer average of 25°C. Theewaterskloof Dam offers respite from the summer heat, and outdoor lovers make the most of the cool water whenever possible. Harvesting season starts in January and continues until early April.

Autumn is a lovely time of the year to visit because the huge oak trees standing sentry along the roads are transformed with red and golden leaves. The town receives most of its rainfall during the winter, about 530mm each year. The coldest month of the year is July. Bundle up warmly, the mercury can drop to 5°C at night and reach an average temperature of around 14.5°C during the day.

If you are in the Theewaterskloof area in October, you can join the locals in celebrating the end of the winter fruit season at their annual Harvest Festival.

While the scenic landscape of Villiersdorp transforms with the seasons, its beauty remains constant, just like this Overberg community’s warm country hospitality.
