Karen Ellis-Brown’s Designs Bring De Hoop Collection to Life

Guests to De Hoop Collection will notice some very special wallpaper, textiles and upholstery designs - all inspired by artwork created by Karen Ellis-Brown of Karen's Creative Designs. The restaurant bathrooms are looking fantastic with the wallpaper, the new De Hoop Villa has chairs upholstered in the fabric, and soon the gift shop will be stocking a range of tea towels and aprons with the designs, as well as some clothing items. The tea towels and aprons are sewn by a staff member's wife - a wonderful example of when creativity and skills come together!

"My creativity was ignited after a stay at De Hoop Collection in the De Hoop Nature Reserve and the designs “Creatures of the Cape”, "Creepy Crawlies", and "Bugs" were inspired by the beauty and serenity of my surroundings. I wanted to celebrate and honour the often overlooked, smaller but equally important creatures of the region. I have attempted to do justice to their intricate beauty by capturing their uniqueness in my art. Surrounded by the ocean and nature is a truly transformative experience." Karen Ellis-Brown
