Swellendam welcomes you to the Marloth Mountain Challenge. Taking place on 24 September 2016, this is an endurance race that combines an unrelenting technical trail with stunning vistas of the greater Swellendam area.
Prepare yourself for a hardy challenge with steep climbs and descents run on the hallowed trails of the former Swellendam Hiking Trail hosted in the Marloth Nature Reserve. This trail was revered as the number one wilderness mountain trails in South Africa that takes you through the rugged terrain of the Swellendam Mountains and will make up around 87% of this epic 55 km race. The route includes 3,494m of vertical height gain over the entire distance and is not for the inexperienced solo mountain runners. The running distances are as follows:
