Workshops Happening In Napier
Studio98 is hosting some exciting workshops this holiday season. This is the perfect way to bond as a family and friends or just to learn and expand new skills. There are three workshops to choose from and promised to be loads of fun, educational, relaxing and creative at the same time.
Bookings are absolutely essential, and each workshop can only accommodate five to ten people.
The workshops on offer are:
Treasures from the sea, Jewellery Design Course - 1-day workshop by Yvonne de Witt
During this course, you will learn to prepare kelp used in the process of designing each piece. Understand how to work with textures and colour. Be guided through the design process of creating your unique pieces of jewellery. Create earrings, necklaces from wire, shells, kelp, driftwood and other beach findings. Working with nature and the treasures from the ocean to create your uniquely designed piece of jewellery.

Mixed Media Fine Art Workshop - 1-day workshop by Carin Maehr
We begin with the medium of charcoal. Exploring light and shadows in shading. Creating forms and shapes with depth. Introduction to the accessories. We will move onto creating art using watercolour. Materials, equipment, colour, techniques, tone and composition. We playfully explore these mediums at a beginner's level. You'll want to carry a watercolour set wherever you go.

Photography Workshop - 1-day workshop by Hermon van Bon
During this 1-day introduction course, the participants will learn to significantly improve their photography skills, resulting in exciting and more skilled photography. The course is both indoors and outdoors. The course will cover settings, portraiture, composition, landscape, nature, architecture and street photography in and around Napier.
The participants need to bring along their own cameras, lenses and smartphones.
